The gift of Moscow, which stood in the metropolitan area of Hakaniemi for more than 30 years, was dismantled and taken away on a barge to the museum storage, according to the Finnish edition Yle. This monument, owned by a local art museum and representing the peaceful intentions of the USSR, depicts people from different continents holding a globe framed by branches in their raised hands. The city authorities explained the dismantling of the monument with plans to improve the street. It took them about a week to prepare for its transportation.
