Kamchatka former MP and billionaire Igor Redkin (pictured) received a fine and restriction of freedom for a period of nine months for killing a man while hunting.

Redkin was found guilty under two articles - on causing death by negligence and on illegal hunting. Initially, he was charged with murder, but then the article was reclassified.

It's worth reminding that in August last year, Redkin said that he accidentally shot a man when he tried to drive the bear out of the village. The victim of the shooting was a 30-year-old local resident who received a gunshot wound on August 2 at a landfill near the village of Ozernovsky, Ust-Bolsheretsky district. The victim died in the hospital.

Note that Redkin, one of the 20 richest civil servants according to Forbes, in 2021 indicated an official income for three years of over 1.5 billion rubles. Redkin owns a network of fishing and aviation enterprises, including Vityaz-Avto and Vityaz-Aero. After the incident, the deputy suspended his membership in United Russia and withdrew his candidacy from the elections.
