The Sovetsky District Court of Ufa found the leader of the DDT group, Yuri Shevchuk, guilty of violating Part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (“Discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation”). The musician was fined 50 thousand rubles. His lawyer has already said that the decision will be appealed.
The protocol against Yuri Shevchuk was drawn up a few months ago, due to an emotional speech during a concert in Ufa. For a long time, the materials could not be considered, Shevchuk insisted that the case be considered in St. Petersburg, but the court of the Northern capital did not accept the documents due to errors in drafting. As a result, the protocol was considered in Ufa. Shevchuk was offered to join the process via video link from St. Petersburg, but he did not appear in court. As a result, I had to watch the video of the interrogation filmed by the police after the concert in Ufa, as well as listen to a lawyer who said that the musician had nothing against the army and told how Shevchuk spoke to the soldiers during the Chechen campaign.
