The study was conducted among two thousand respondents of different ages. The results of the study are published in Vedomosti.
Similar studies were also carried out during the coronavirus pandemic. In 2020, 66% of survey participants spoke of financial difficulties, in 2021 - 69% of respondents.
Both before the pandemic and now, only 20% of survey participants believed that their financial situation directly depends on external circumstances. Almost half of the respondents before the pandemic believed that their financial situation depended on themselves. Now this opinion is shared by 46% of respondents.
As Vice-Rector of the Higher School of Economics Lilia Ovcharova noted, the assessment of financial difficulties, as a rule, is not objective, since respondents often talk about the desired income, and not about the real financial picture.
According to Rosstat, in the second quarter of this year, the real disposable income of the population decreased by 0.8%. The Ministry of Economic Development predicts a reduction in the income of the country's residents by 2.8% by the end of the year.
