In September, the biopic My Son Hunter, dedicated to the scandalous figure of the son of US President Hunter Biden, should appear in the American box office. Judging by the 23-second teaser, which was at the disposal of the editors of the Daily Mail, in terms of genre, this is a lively satirical show that does not pretend to be a documentary.
The video contains the phrase “This is a false story, except for all the facts", and on the official website, viewers are warned that in the film they can expect “sex, prostitution, drugs, nepotism, money laundering, sex again, a laptop from hell, Chinese spies, Ukrainian 'businessmen', CCP [Communist Party of China], sell-out of America, big guy, corn pop, more sex, more drugs and... Family." At the center of the film, a press release reads, is "Hunter, his corrupt business, his relationship with his father, and a lifestyle that would make rock stars envious. But through the haze of a crack pipe, through the noise of parties and explosions of emotions ... somewhere lies the truth.
The film was directed by Robert Davy, a character actor known for numerous villain roles (License to Kill, Die Hard, Showgirls). British actor Lawrence Fox plays the title character, John James from Dynasty plays the President of the United States, and Gina Carano, star of The Mandalorian and Deadpool, plays the role of a secret service agent on behalf of which the story is being told. In one of the frames, you can see how the president kisses her on the neck, in the other - a gun pointed at Hunter.
The filmmakers say they wanted to tell the story because the world's media kept it quiet. According to them, while working in Serbia, Hunter's lawyer entered the set, posing as a documentary filmmaker. He flew to Europe in a private jet and spied on what was going on.
The trailer is due out on August 26th, and the movie will be released on September 7th.
