The number of cases of coronavirus in Russia increased by 38% in a week

An increase in the number of cases is noted in 85 regions of the country. At the same time, in 23 regions, the increase in the number of new cases is even higher than the national average.

The number of coronavirus cases in Russia has been growing for the eighth week in a row. Over the past 24 hours, more than 39.6 thousand new cases have been detected in the country. The day before, the number of cases per day for the first time since mid-March exceeded 40 thousand people.

In a week, 22.3% more patients were admitted to hospitals with complications than a week earlier. The number of hospitalizations is growing in 73 regions of the country.

The increase in the number of cases is associated with the spread of especially infectious subspecies of the Omicron strain.
