Petersburg authorities buy books on psychology and Orwell's novel "1984"

The purchase of the administration of the governor of St. Petersburg attracted attention. The authorities of the northern capital are planning to buy a batch of books, apparently to replenish the government library. The initial purchase price is 180 thousand rubles. It is planned to purchase about 180 books for this amount. The choice of officials is also interesting, among other things, it is planned to purchase publications in English and German, on various legal issues. But there is a block of publications that are completely unexpected, in particular on psychology and self-development: “I want - I can - I must. Know yourself and act!”, “The art of thinking big”, “How to convince when you are not heard”.

Interestingly, among fiction, only George Orwell's novel "1984" is bought.

In addition, among the purchased selection there is a book "The etiquette of a St. Petersburg walk."
