A criminal case was opened against the former mayor of Yekaterinburg, Yevgeny Roizman, under the article on discrediting the RF Armed Forces, he was detained.

- Roizman was detained in the morning, the security forces came to his house. A criminal case has been initiated against him for discrediting the Russian army, TASS quoted the interlocutor as saying.

According to the Yevgeny Roizman Foundation, lawyers have now gone to the detainee. Searches are being carried out in the museum of the Nevyansk Icon, searches are underway, and they will also come to the offices of the foundation with searches, Leyla Huseynova, Roizman's assistant, specified.

It is specified that Roizman was detained in Yekaterinburg, and the case was opened in Moscow.

Recall that in May the court fined Roizman another 85,000 rubles for a question asked in social networks under comments to an article about statements by the head of the Russian diplomatic department, Sergei Lavrov. In March and April of this year, Roizman was issued two fines of 50,000 rubles each in the case of discrediting the army.
