The Polish authorities intend to create a coalition to lobby for a ban on the issuance of Schengen visas to Russians for tourism purposes. This was stated by the press secretary of the ruling party "Law and Justice" (PiS) Radoslaw Vogel.

"We adhere to a consistent position and stand for the most severe restrictions on the issuance of Schengen visas to Russians", - he said in an interview with PAP.

Radoslav Fogel expects that the authorities of those countries that do not yet want to impose a ban on issuing visas to Russians will change their mind.

Recall that Poland limited the issuance of visas to Russians in March this year. A visa to this country can be obtained in exceptional cases, for example, if you are visiting relatives.

The ban on issuing Schengen visas to Russians at the EU level is also supported in the Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Finland. Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin , for example, has previously noted that it is not normal for Russians to travel around Europe as if nothing had happened while hostilities continue in a neighboring state.

Against restrictions on the issuance of Schengen visas are in Cyprus and Greece. In these countries, tourists from the Russian Federation account for up to a quarter of the tourist flow. Do not support restrictions also in Germany and Portugal. The authorities of these countries believe that the Russians should not be held responsible for the decisions of the country's leadership.
