Zelensky promised to prevent a repeat of the Minsk agreements

Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky said he does not believe in Moscow's promises to stop the fire after the peace treaty is signed, and therefore he "will not allow a repetition of the Minsk agreements".

Zelensky said in an interview with L'Express that these agreements suspended the conflict only for a while, but then the alleged Russian side moved on to "full-scale aggression." Zelensky said that the ceasefire allegedly "would only freeze the situation".

"If the situation in the places of deployment of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine was frozen, no one would accept such a scenario. Neither I, nor Ukrainian society. As president, I will not allow the Minsk agreements to be repeated!", - Zelensky said.

However, the Russian side has repeatedly pointed out that it is Ukraine that does not comply with the Minsk agreements. Kiev actually stopped the negotiations on its own initiative. Moscow accused Kiev of non-compliance with the Minsk agreements. Zelensky literally repeats the words previously spoken by the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov: “promises are not kept” by the Ukrainian side.
