The Japanese will build a futuristic city in Tokyo Bay that will use only "clean energy".

In the uninhabited part of Tokyo Bay, the first quarters of a high-tech city will appear next year. It will be erected on reclaimed lands, Bloomberg reports, publishing a video about this event.

The project will be called Tokyo Bay eSG and will be built by expanding the land to 1,000 hectares where ocean water currently splashes.

During the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, the site hosted canoeing competitions, and today it is used for container storage and recycling.

The Japanese government plans to use only clean energy in the new city, generated by solar installations and vertical turbines (even with very strong “typhoon-class” winds), as well as introduce advanced digital technologies everywhere in the city economy.

According to the plan of the Japanese authorities, this project should further increase the country's international competitiveness.

It is reported that part of the Tokyo Bay eSG will be opened as early as 2023.
