Sberbank announced a record volume of consumer loans in August 2022

Sberbank recorded in August a record volume of issuance of consumer loans during August this year, said the first deputy chairman of the bank, Kirill Tsarev. He explained that this was due to lower rates and easing requirements for borrowers.

The portfolio of individuals increased by one and a half percent, writes TASS, referring to the words of Tsarev. The expert noted that the growth driver was credit cards - plus 20% and mortgages - plus 7.3%.

By the way, the Accounts Chamber is against extending preferential mortgages for new buildings next year. The auditors explained that such an extension is undesirable, since the reduced rate on new buildings caused a serious gap in prices for apartments in such houses and in second homes, which made new buildings unaffordable for many who planned to take out a mortgage.
