According to REN TV , the structure collapsed as soon as the invited guests cut the red ribbon.

“Guests and the military participated in the liquidation of the consequences of the collapse. No one was hurt," the statement said.

As follows from the video footage, the construction of the bridge was of a non-permanent nature: the crossing was made of lightweight components.

A video of the collapse of a new bridge at Mont Ngafula in the province of Kinshasa in the Congo immediately became a hit on social networks.

Users joked that the reason for the fall of the bridge, obviously, was that the red ribbon just cut by the officials turned out to be a “bearing structure”.
