At the 79th Venice Film Festival, which is taking place these days, the public celebrated with an eight-minute standing ovation the new film by Italian director Luca Guadagnino "Entirely and Completely" (there is also a translation of the title "Bones and All That" online), Variety reported.

Remember how a few years ago many people laughed at the situation described by the so-called adherents of conspiracy theories to illustrate what the “Overton Window” is?

The principle of operation of "OO" was demonstrated by the example of how society gradually accepts the idea of the normality of cannibalism. Voila: Overton's window has definitely been flung open, otherwise how can one explain the success of the film about cannibals?

“The film tells the story of cannibals in love who travel across America in search of answers about their origins. The lovers' odyssey is marked by self-discovery and murder. Despite the uncomfortable topic, the audience at the Venice premiere was delighted with the film. It is reported that the horror received an 8.5-minute standing ovation, the longest and most enthusiastic for the entire festival, ”writes the On the Boards telegram channel.

16-year-old Maren (Taylor Russell), left without a mother, sets out on a journey in search of a father she never knew. Having found her father, Maren hopes to find out where she has such an unhealthy craving for devouring people who show sincere care and love towards her, says the kino-teatr.ru portal.

“During the applause, the crowd greeted the director with exclamations: “Luka! Luke!" The director wiped tears from his eyes, and lead actor Timothée Chalamet even held up sheets of paper with the names of Guadagnino and actress Taylor Russell to elicit fresh applause,” notes teatrnadoskah .

In the carnival scene, Lee seduces a man, assuming he is bisexual or pansexual, but he ends up falling in love with Maren. Bones and All is based on the novel of the same name by Camille DeAngelis. The adaptations were handled by Suspiria screenwriter David Kaiganich. It stars Mark Rylance, Michael Stuhlbarg, Andre Holland, Jessica Harper, Chloe Sevigny, Francesca Scorsese and David Gordon Green in supporting roles.

Timothee Chalamet, who played in this melodramatic horror about the love of two cannibals, made a splash on the red carpet, as always, appearing in a crimson suit with a bare back. Also, the film was presented to the audience by director Luca Guadagnino and actors Mark Rylance, Taylor Russell and Chloe Sevigny.

“Look at the solidarity of the “cultural public”! How do we know that some of its representatives do not feed on people in the truest sense of the word? For example, reports on the crimes of occultists can be read in the public domain . Another reason to think. If after such a film a record-breaking applause is heard, how will these people change the world? In which direction? To stop this path to degradation, we need a full-fledged alternative in culture. A forward movement that would make the backward movement less attractive,” said S. Kurginyan’s Mystery telegram channel in the On the Boards theater.

“In general, a hodgepodge of cannibals, LGBT representatives and murderers, devouring each other, although they love very much, is being promoted as an art worthy of admiration ... For you to understand, ordinary Italians are sitting here in shock from this festival”, - Ekaterina Kovalenko , a popular Russian blogger from Italy, wrote in her telegram.
