This was announced by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova. In an interview with TASS , she pointed out that visas are required even for heads of delegations, unless a visa-free regime is established between countries.
“Where there is no visa-free regime in general or for diplomats, everyone always applies for a visa, including heads of delegations,” Zakharova told reporters on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum.
Zakharova herself is part of a delegation that is to fly to New York. She clarified that the American side "has documentary obligations not to interfere with the work of the delegates of the UN member countries and the relevant UN bodies."
- Our diplomats in New York are working on this problem. Some of the journalists who accompany the delegation have received visas, while others have not yet, Zakharova said.
Recall that the high-level week of the UN General Assembly will be held in New York from September 20 to 26 and involves the full-time participation of all delegations, including the Russian one, headed by Sergey Lavrov.
