Until the end of this autumn, the largest Russian banks will receive hundreds of samples of domestic ATMs manufactured by BFS and SAGA for testing.

This is reported by Kommersant, referring to the road map presented by the Central Bank during a meeting of the Council on Cash Circulation.

Vice-President of the Association of Banks of Russia Alexei Voylukov named more cautious delivery dates for the first batches of domestic ATMs - the first half of next year. The industrial production of the device may start in mid-2023. And after serial batches enter the market, manufacturers will continue work on further localization, in stages over the next two years.

A fully Russian-made ATM, 100% localized in the country, is technically impossible. So, it is possible to make the body, the mechanical part of the design of an ATM in the country, but the electronic stuffing for the most part is not produced in the country and is unlikely to be produced soon.

Earlier, BFS promised to bring ATMs to the market in 2023. Currently, VTB is interested in devices, as well as some other large banks. The company has been operating on the Russian market for 18 years. It is a leading provider of integrated solutions for self-service banking systems.

It's worth reminding that the main suppliers of ATMs in the Russian market were the American firms Diebold Nixdorf and NCR, whose machines account for 60-70% of the total. ATMs of Chinese GRG, Korean Nautilus Hyosung, Japanese OKI and other foreign companies have also been installed in Russia. However, the main suppliers began to leave the Russian market.
