It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the FSB. The publication notes that a representative of the leadership of the aircraft plant living in the Moscow region was suspected of transferring secret drawings of military equipment to Ukraine. According to the FSB, the quality director of the aviation plant received access to technical documentation marked "top secret".
The department believes that the suspect photographed the secret drawings on his mobile phone. And then he sent the fragments of parts of military aviation equipment copied in this way to a citizen of Ukraine - an employee of the Odessa Aviation Plant.
The FSB believes that the dissemination of classified information about the technical characteristics of domestic aircraft has harmed Russia's security.
A criminal case was initiated against the employee of the enterprise under the article “Treason”. The punishment can be up to 20 years in prison.
It should be noted that earlier, under the same article, a guilty verdict was handed down to journalist Ivan Safronov, who did not have access to state secrets and received information for his reporting from open sources. Nevertheless, Safronov was sentenced to 22 years in a strict regime colony. The harsh sentence to the journalist caused indignation among media representatives who were convinced that Safronov was being persecuted not for treason, but for his reporting work.
