Ministry of Health specialist explains why Russian men are "dying in batches"

The country's demographic problems are largely related to the lifestyle of Russian men, according to Russian medical officials.

During his speech at the Eastern Economic Forum, Oleg Apolikhin, specialist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation for reproductive health, complained about the depression and overweight of Russian men, and besides, they can become a real burden on the budget, and this has a detrimental effect on the country's economy .

If there are too many such men, Apolikhin noted, they will "load the healthcare system." They will begin to die in batches, adversely affecting the performance of the economy. According to the forecast, by 2036 there will be 5.5 million fewer Russians among men.

“Fat in a man works like an endocrine gland - it reduces testosterone levels. When testosterone drops, a man becomes lethargic, sleeps constantly and perks up, as we sometimes say, when a wife brings dumplings. He doesn’t want anything, ”explains Apolikhin, noting that men today are fond of fast food, drink alcohol, smoke, swallow handfuls of pills, move less and are exposed to poor ecology.

As a result, doctors are increasingly diagnosing them with:

  • decrease in muscle mass, female-type obesity (breasts and belly grow), diabetes mellitus;
  • vegetative disorders;
  • decreased libido, erectile dysfunction (in 72% - from the age of 42), infertility.
  • reduced hair growth on the face and body;
  • depression, insomnia, irritability, fatigue and weakness;

According to Apolikhin, it is for these reasons that men get up in the morning out of sorts, grumble at politicians and authorities, and complain about life.

Popular blogger Alexander "StalinGulag" Gorbunov sarcastically remarks about these conclusions of the official:

“... not because they have a meager salary, which is barely enough for food and a mortgage, or prices are rising faster than his stubble, the ill-fated belly fat is to blame. And addiction to alcohol - from there..."
