Schoolchildren should attend the "Talks about Important" lessons, as they are a cycle of class hours.

This is stated in the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Education of Russia. Class hours in the department were classified as extracurricular activities, which are part of educational programs. This is stated in the Federal Educational State Standard (the so-called FGOS - editor's note).

“Students are required to: conscientiously master the educational program, follow the individual curriculum, attend the classes provided for by the curriculum or individual curriculum, carry out independent preparation for lessons and complete tasks given by the teacher as part of the educational program”, - RIA Novosti quotes a message from the department.

At the same time, the Ministry of Education admitted that the issuance of homework to children in this subject, as well as grading, are not provided.

Classes "Talks about Important" were introduced in all schools of the country from September 5. As planned by the officials, they should be held weekly with the first lesson on Mondays. The purpose of the classes is the education of patriotism, as well as the disclosure of the goals of the military operation on the territory of Ukraine.

Many parents reacted hostilely to the introduction of "Talk about Important" into the curriculum, calling it "propaganda lessons". In many schools, the legal representatives of students began to issue written refusals to attend such lessons.

Sample statements have even appeared online that parents can send to school authorities to exempt their child from attending extra lessons. Another type of application has been developed for teachers who do not want to participate in these propaganda campaigns. Moreover, these class hours are extracurricular activities, it is possible only on a voluntary basis.

These efforts have borne fruit in some places. So, for example, a resident of Yekaterinburg ensured that her son did not attend propaganda classes.

After massive complaints from parents, the Ministry of Education updated the manuals for Talking about Important Things. From the ready-made materials for the lesson on September 12, all references to Ukraine, “special operations”, “NATO”, as well as the slogan “it’s not scary to die for the Motherland” were removed.
