The value of the shares of the largest Russian companies fell by 6-12% on the news about the appointment of referendums in the LDPR and Kherson on joining the Russian Federation.

According to the telegram channel “Before everyone else. Well, almost" ("Ranshe vsekh, nu pochti" - editor's note), by 15 o’clock Moscow time, Gazprom shares fell in price by 10.05% at once - to 219.67 rubles, Sberbank lost 9.21 rubles (6.67%) in price, Lukoil papers "decreased by 491 rubles (-10.92%), Novatek - by 145.8 rubles (-12.44%).

At the same time, the securities of Yandex, Rosneft and a number of other companies lost their price.

Earlier, on September 20, it became known that a referendum on the issue of joining the Lugansk People's Republic to the Russian Federation as a subject of the Russian Federation will be held from September 23 to 27. Earlier today it was reported that the administration of the Kherson region decided to hold a referendum on the region's entry into Russia.

According to the head of the administration, Vladimir Saldo, he hopes that the Kremlin will accept the results of the referendum. Returning to the Russian Federation will secure the region, provide new opportunities for residents and become a triumph of historical justice.

Western countries have previously stated that they do not intend to recognize the results of referendums in the LDPR as legitimate.
