Mothers with children under 16 will be excluded from mobilization plans

Russian citizens liable for military service who have dependent children under the age of 16 will not be subject to mobilization.

According to Kommersant, the number of persons who are not subject to conscription into the army during mobilization activities includes women caring for underage children.

According to the publication, a deferment from mobilization is granted to citizens who are constantly caring for their closest relatives (father, mother, wife, husband and others) who need constant care for health reasons or who are disabled of group I, as well as for family members under 16 -years of age, in the absence of other persons obliged by law to support these citizens.

Those who are recognized as temporarily unfit for military service for health reasons will also not fall under the draft. This delay is valid for six months.

A deferment from mobilization is due to fathers of many children who have four or more dependent children, as well as to sons who help their single mothers of many children to raise younger brothers and sisters up to eight years old, if the kids grow up without a father.

Criminals who have an unexpunged or outstanding conviction for committing a serious crime will also not get into the army.

President Putin announced the start of mobilization in Russia in address to the nation on 21 September.

On the same day, the Kremlin website published a corresponding a decree that took effect immediately. In accordance with the presidential decree, the government sends the funds necessary for mobilization activities to the regions.

According to a statement by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, 300,000 reservists will be called up as part of a partial mobilization. According to him, at the moment, the losses of the Russian Federation during the special military operation amounted to 5,937 people.
