The drug is purchased by order of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise SPC "Pharmzashchita" of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia. At the end of 2020 and the beginning of March 2021, cards were placed in the system that indicated the purchase of the drug for $56,000.

Earlier it became known that on the Ozon and Wildberries marketplaces, sales of potassium iodide and preparations containing it grew by 103% in April compared to March of this year and by 40% in May compared to April, as well as by 42% in July compared to June.

In addition, from August 1 to August 22, cumulative sales of radiation dosimeters at Ozon and Wildberries increased by 161% compared to July. The surge in August specifically for Wildberries was 3.6 times. The volume of sales of devices for measuring radiation on this marketplace until June 2022 was minimal.

Earlier today, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev said that Russia has the right to use nuclear weapons if necessary.
