Three more Turkish banks have decided to refuse to conduct transactions with cards of the Russian payment system "Mir". This was reported by Bloomberg, citing a source.

According to the agency, we are talking about Turkish banks Turkiye Halk, TC Ziraat and Turkiye Vakiflar. The publication reports that these are the last Turkish financial institutions that continue to cooperate with the Russian payment system.

Earlier, two more Turkish banks refused to cooperate with the Russian payment system. These are Isbank and DenizBank. The credit institutions made the decision under pressure from the US authorities. Washington began to threaten Turkey with sanctions for using the Mir payment system. In mid-September, the US Treasury imposed sanctions against the National Payment Card System, which acts as the Mir card operator.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan proposed to develop an alternative to Mir - a Russian-Turkish payment system.
