The peak of February, when in just one day (February 25, 2022) citizens cashed out over 1.4 trillion rubles, has not been beaten, but the need for bills among the inhabitants of Russia increased exactly from September 22 - the day after the announcement of partial mobilization.
So, on September 21, the demand of Russians for cash amounted to 14 billion rubles. Already on September 22, citizens withdrew over 132 billion. The excitement continued on September 23: on this day, bank customers took 114 billion rubles in cash.
In the following days, demand began to decline, and specifically on September 29, according to the Central Bank, about 69 billion cash was withdrawn.
The outflow of cash is directly related to the mass exodus of Russians abroad. As of September 30, 94.4 thousand citizens have entered Georgia from the Russian Federation in recent days. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, 21.6 thousand people remained on the territory of Georgia.
More than 98,000 people have entered Kazakhstan since September 21, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Russian Ambassador to Helsinki Pavel Kuznetsov said that after the announcement of partial mobilization, about 60 thousand people left in cars through Finland.
At the moment, there are no statistics on how many more Russians left the country by air in a week. All these days, it was almost impossible to buy air tickets to visa-free countries. The planes flying to Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Baku were, as they say, packed to capacity.
