The State Duma will consider a draft law on the admission of four new subjects to the Russian Federation

As reported by TASS with reference to the State Duma Committee on State Construction and Legislation, according to the initiative of Vladimir Putin, the stage of formation of new subjects of the Federation - two republics and two regions - will be completed in the coming days. The name of the new subject of the Russian Federation will be included in the first part of Article 65 of the Russian Constitution, which lists the Russian regions.

According to the head of the committee, Pavel Krasheninnikov, the bills are planned to be considered in the State Duma on October 3, and in the Federation Council on October 4.

Starting from January 1, 2023, budget legislation will be applied in the new subjects. The Russian ruble will become the only payment unit there. Although the State Duma stipulated that until that moment the circulation of the Ukrainian hryvnia would be allowed in the new subjects.

Until June 1, 2023, territorial bodies of federal executive bodies will be created in the new republics and regions of Russia.

The Committee told TASS that the draft federal constitutional law on the admission of the Zaporozhye region to the Russian Federation also contains provisions on ensuring the safe use of atomic energy.
