This was announced by the Acting Minister of Transport of Crimea Nikolai Lukashenko.
“All the ferries run: three assigned to the ports of Kerch, and the Lavrentiy, which arrived from Yeysk. And we are still waiting. There is at least one more ferry on the way, ” Kommersant quoted Lukashenka as saying.
The establishment of a ferry crossing for the delivery of goods to the Crimea was required after an emergency on the bridge across the Kerch Strait, where a truck exploded on October 8.
The explosion ignited seven fuel tanks of the train. At the same time, two automobile spans of the bridge collapsed and collapsed into the sea.
Two days after the emergency, the authorities managed to partially establish the movement of passenger cars and rail transport, however, for the transit of trucks, it was necessary to open a ferry crossing.
The first ferries for all the trucks that had accumulated on the approaches to the peninsula were not enough: by the time they were launched, hundreds of trucks had accumulated in traffic jams.
The government promised that freight traffic on the bridge would be restored from October 16.
