Not so long ago, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova admitted that oncology is one of the most common causes of death in our country. According to the Accounts Chamber, over 9 months of 2021, more than 791,000 Russians were diagnosed with cancer, and in 2020, almost 290,000 people died for this reason in Russia. Georgy Vvedensky, Deputy Director of the Department of Organization of Medical Care and Sanatorium and Resort Affairs of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, specifies these figures: oncology accounts for 31% of all deaths, these diseases are second only to diseases of the circulatory system - 38%.

The figures are scary, however, it seems that they will soon become even more shocking, because, according to the Finanz channel, the federal state program to combat cancer fell under the sequestration of the budget, launched against the backdrop of falling incomes and the need to pay for a special operation in Ukraine.

Recall that earlier Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said in general that in the next three years the Russian budget will be in deficit.

And now, judging by the data of the publication, which refers to the explanatory note to the budget law, the government's spending on this item next year will fall immediately by 19%!

If this year 189.6 billion rubles will be spent from the country's budget, which will go to the construction of 420 outpatient cancer care centers and the re-equipment of 160 hospitals and dispensaries in the regions by 2024, then next year this amount will be reduced by 35.9 billion rubles to 153, 7 billion

True, funding for the federal project “Fight against cardiovascular diseases” will be cut even more - by almost a third: from 25.7 billion rubles this year to 17.5 billion rubles next ...

But that's not all! In fact, the repair and construction of hospitals and polyclinics will be stopped, since the costs of the federal project "Development of Health Infrastructure" will decrease from 49.1 to 38.1 billion rubles, that is, by 22%. And the state project for the modernization of the primary health care system will be reduced by 99.8 billion rubles to 90 billion, that is, by 10%.

In total, the country's budget expenditures on health care will be reduced next year to 1.469 trillion rubles, or by 4%. At the same time, defense spending in the federal budget in 2023 is provided for in the amount of almost 5 trillion rubles.
