Former President of Brazil, 77-year-old Luis Lula da Silva (pictured), won the second round of presidential elections. According to a Supreme Court spokesman, the results are "mathematically determined."

According to Reuters, Lula da Silva defeated current President Jair Bolsonaro by no more than 2%.

After counting 99.24% of the ballots, Lula da Silva won 50.85% of the vote and Bolsonaro 49.15% . According to the results of the first round, their results were 48.02% and 43.55% of the votes, respectively.

Recall that Lula da Silva was president in 2003-2010. In 2017, he was sentenced to 9.5 years in prison on charges of corruption. The charges against him were then dropped. Bolsonaro was elected head of the republic in 2019. Previously, he was a federal deputy.
