An Iranian court has announced public trials of 1,000 people who participated in demonstrations in Tehran.

In addition, hundreds of protesters in other cities will be convicted, according to the Associated Press .

According to Iranian authorities, these people played a major role in the protests and will be convicted of "subversive acts": attacking the police, setting fire to public property and other crimes. Part of the protesters will be charged with cooperation with foreign governments.

“Those who intend to oppose and overthrow the regime are dependent on foreigners and will be punished according to legal standards,” said Iranian judiciary chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Ejei.

In addition, some Iranians who participated in rallies in provincial cities were accused of "debauchery" and "war against God", crimes that carry the death penalty.

Earlier, the media reported that the Iranian security forces killed a teenager who participated in the rallies.

As you know, the reason for the protests was the Iranian murder of a girl who was detained by the "vice police" in August just because she "wrongly wore a headscarf." After her funeral, in many cities of the country, first, actions of women protesting against police brutality began, and then they were supported by opposition forces and everyone dissatisfied with the arbitrariness of Iranian Islamists.
