Wholesalers of alcoholic beverages began to record a shortage of popular brands two months before the New Year celebration. We are talking about bourbon, cognac, sparkling wines, previously imported from abroad.

According to RBC, referring to market participants, drinks from other countries and from small producers - Italian prosecco, whiskey from India, Georgian chacha, Armenian cognac and products of Russian companies - can replace the departed brands.

Experts pointed out that the demand in the purchases of restaurants and shops before the New Year increased for French sparkling wines and cognac, as well as for Scotch whiskey. They are sold out in just two days, companies have to significantly increase supplies from Champagne and cognac products, whiskey.

According to the Association of Retail Companies, last month, large federal chains already noted a shortage of alcoholic products from other countries. These are Jack Daniel's, Aberfeldy, Grants, Dewar's whiskey, Bacardi rum, Baileys, Sheridan's liqueur, European brands of cognac and tequila.

In early November, the Ministry of Industry and Trade allowed the parallel import of alcohol. The list of products allowed for this scheme includes the brands Jameson, Jim Beam, Johnnie Walker, Absolut, Aperol, White Horse, William Lawsons's, Hennessy, Moet, Bacardi, Baileys, Capitan Morgan, and Jägermeister.

The production of its own alcohol is growing in the country. Local factories for ten months of this year increased the production of alcohol by 12%, follows from the data of Rosalkogolregulirovanie. The data are given without taking into account statistics on the production of beer, cider and mead.
