An Indonesian government spokesman said Russian President Vladimir Putin will not attend the G20 summit in Bali on November 15-16, but will join the group's leaders' conference via video link. The country will be represented at the summit by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

According to Reuters, a spokesman for the Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Affairs, Jody Mahardi, stressed that Indonesia resisted pressure from the West and Ukraine, demanding to withdraw the invitation to the Russian leader, as well as to exclude Russia from the G20. Indonesia does not have the authority to make such decisions without the consensus of the association's members.

Note that Ukraine is not included in the G20. The G20 includes the largest economically developed countries - including the United States, Australia, Britain, Russia, Germany, China. At the same time, on November 8, the Ukrainian president announced that he intended to participate in the summit in Bali. He can speak online or record a video message. The fact that Vladimir Putin is likely to miss the summit, it became known on the same day. Indonesian President Joko Widodo expressed regret over the possible absence of the Russian leader from the G20 meeting.
