The head of the Federal Air Transport Agency, Alexander Neradko, announced the suspension of work on the certification of the Ka-62 helicopter "due to known circumstances."

In Russia, the certification of the Ka-62 helicopter has been suspended, the Vestnik PVO and VKS channel reports. Recall that the Ka-62 multi-purpose helicopter was developed on the basis of the military Ka-60. The first flight of the new model took place in 2017.

Aviation experts have already called this news “very bad”, because just two months ago it was announced that mass production of the “completely import-substituted” Russian Ka-62 helicopter would begin in 2025.

Then this decision was made following the results of the working visit of the Deputy Prime Minister, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov to the site of the Arseniev Aviation Company Progress named after. N.I. Sazykina (part of the Russian Helicopters holding company of the Rostec state corporation). Then Manturov said that this enterprise "is provided with orders for the next three years and plans to increase production capacity..."

Now it turns out that the certification of the Ka-62 was completed at the end of 2021 with restrictions and it was not carried out further, which was confirmed by Russian Helicopters. It turned out that full import substitution was out of the question.

“The helicopter is to a very high degree, about 60%, imported: blades, material, engines, avionics. All deliveries were cut off, it is necessary to completely revise everything on it. It makes no sense to further certify it”, - said a representative of the holding.
