Iran sentences protester to death for the first time

According to the Mizan news agency, one of the defendants, Saman Seydi, was sentenced to death. He was charged with setting fire to a government building, disturbing the peace, murder and conspiracy to commit a crime against national security, using firearms. Sadie threw the gun out the window, and during the trial he said that it was not his weapon.

Another defendant, Mohammed Gobadlu, was accused of killing a policeman. He hit several law enforcement officers in a car, one of them died, five more were injured.

The court ruled in the cases of five defendants. Some received 5-10 years in prison. The judgments are preliminary and subject to appeal.

Protests in Iran began in September. During the rallies, 318 protesters were killed, including 49 children, as well as 38 members of the security forces. In early November, the Iranian courts have already convicted about a thousand residents of the country who participated in the riots.

The country's authorities believe that the United States and Israel are involved in organizing the unrest, which are not happy with the growing power of Iran. Social networks continue to spread calls to go to rallies.
