15 ноября 2022, 10:31
The International Atomic Energy Agency has announced a decision to send its missions to three operating nuclear power plants in Ukraine - Khmelnytsky, Rivne and South-Ukrainian, as well as to Chernobyl.

The head of the organization, Rafael Grossi, stressed that while "the world is focused on the unstable situation with nuclear safety and security at the Zaporizhzhya NPP," other nuclear facilities located in the conflict zone cannot be ignored.

This will be the third visit to Chernobyl by the IAEA mission since February 2022. Each mission lasts about a week.

Previously, IAEA inspectors were looking in Ukraine for signs of the development of a "dirty bomb", but could not find them. They arrived in the republic at the request of Kyiv. They visited facilities in the Dnieper (Dnepropetrovsk), Kyiv and Zhovti Vody. In addition to the inspection, environmental samples were taken , which were supposed to indicate the misuse of nuclear materials.
