Two rockets fell near the village of Przewodow in the Lublin Voivodeship of Poland, killing two people. The village is located near the border with Ukraine. This was reported by the Polish Radio ZET, citing its sources. According to preliminary data, the missiles were shot down by Ukrainian air defense.

It is not reported where the rockets flew from.

The publication writes about two dead. Police, prosecutors and the army are on the scene. The fire department confirmed that there were explosions in the village, but the department stressed that the cause of the incident is still unknown. The Visegrad publication reports that fighter jets from the Tomaszow-Lubelsky airfield have been lifted into the air.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki called an urgent meeting of the government's Committee on Security and Defense.

United States intelligence said Russian missiles had crossed the Polish border, but Polish government spokesman Piotr Müller urged not to believe unconfirmed information.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, in turn, issued the following appeal:

The statements of the Polish media and officials about the alleged fall of "Russian" missiles in the area of the settlement of Przewoduv are a deliberate provocation in order to escalate the situation.

“There were no strikes against targets near the Ukrainian-Polish state border by Russian means of destruction. The fragments published in hot pursuit by the Polish media from the scene in the village of Przewoduv have nothing to do with Russian weapons”.

Brussels is awaiting Poland's appeal to NATO. NATO's reaction will depend on Warsaw's statements about the ownership of the fallen missiles.

Article 5 of the NATO Charter states: “If one NATO member is the victim of an armed attack, all other members of the Alliance will regard this act of violence as an armed attack on all NATO countries and will take such action as they deem necessary to help the NATO country affected by attack".
