Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (pictured) said he "feels" Russian President Vladimir Putin "wants direct talks". He added that he allegedly received such "signals" from his partners.

- Yes, I received certain signals from the leaders of the states. It seems that Putin wants direct negotiations... I received such signals... I proposed a public form," Zelensky said.

He indicated that he did not want the negotiations to take place "behind the scenes". At the G20 summit, Zelensky proposed ten steps for peace to resume.

- I believe that this is the formula of peace for the whole world. Because each state can find its place there and be a leader on one or another initiative - in overcoming the difficulties of one or another point out of these ten, the Ukrainian president said.

The day before, writes Reuters, Zelensky complained that Moscow "does not communicate" with him. He pointed out in an interview with journalists that the Russian side did not turn to the Ukrainian side about negotiations.

"They don't communicate with us," the Ukrainian leader complained.

With regard to Zelensky's proposals and his ten points, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov replied that the conditions put forward by Ukraine for the start of negotiations, including the full provision of nuclear, food and energy security, the exchange of prisoners of war according to the "all for all" formula, as well as restoration of the country's territorial integrity, "are obviously unrealistic and not adequate to the situation." Note that it was Kyiv that actually disrupted the negotiation process. Moscow has repeatedly announced its openness to negotiations. Vladimir Putin urged to sit down at the negotiating table, warning that the issue of the status of the country's new territories was not discussed. In response, Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree, which fixes the impossibility of negotiating with Vladimir Putin.
