“He is accused of taking a bribe with a washing machine from the military commissar of the United Military Commissariat Ramenki”, - Kommersant reports, specifying that the colonel admitted his guilt in his deed.
According to the information provided by the publication, after the start of the draft campaign, Mertvishchev planned to check the United Military Commissariat, which includes several microdistricts: Dorogomilovo, Ochakovo-Matveyevskoye, Vernadsky Avenue, Ramenki and Troparevo-Nikulino of the Western Administrative District of Moscow. A week before the start of the check, he notified the local military commissar about this.
“At the same time, the officer made it clear that things in the military enlistment office with the recruitment of conscripts, according to his information, are going very badly, and if everything is fine with the relevant documentation, then he will definitely find something to complain about”, - Kommersant said.
The colonel hinted that the negative consequences of the check would affect the reputation of the UWC leadership and could call into question the future career of the commissioner. As a solution to the problem, he offered the officer to buy a washing machine for him. One of the conditions is that the cost of the model must exceed 70 thousand rubles. The military commissar agreed, but after that he turned to the department of military counterintelligence of the FSB, filing an application for extortion. Employees of the department joined the negotiations on the purchase of a washing machine.
“When the choice was finally made, and the machine was bought, the military commissar informed the inspector that the order had been completed and that he could come and pick it up. Upon receiving the washing machine, the FSB officers detained Mr. Mertvishchev”, - Kommersant continued.
The colonel was taken for interrogation to the 517th military investigation department of the Investigation Commitee of Russia, where a criminal case was opened against Mertvishchev in accordance with Part 5 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - Receiving a bribe with conjugated extortion. He fully admitted his guilt in the deed, which is explained by the presence of all the necessary evidence. House arrest for a period of two months was chosen as a preventive measure for an employee of the General Staff of the General Staff, to which neither he nor his defense objected.
The colonel's case may be continued. According to Kommersant, the FSB and the TFR are checking his involvement in similar crimes.
