Russia will not continue to supply oil to those countries that join the introduction of a price limit on Russian fuel, confirmed Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

"We have repeatedly said that the introduction of the so-called price ceiling for Russian oil is an anti-market measure, it disrupts supply chains, and can significantly complicate the situation on global energy markets. The Russian Federation does not plan to supply oil to countries that will join the cartel of buyers", - the representative of the Foreign Ministry emphasized.

Zakharova recalled that many oil-producing countries also oppose this measure, because they understand that the West can apply it not only to Russia, but also to them.

It is planned to introduce a price ceiling for oil from the Russian Federation on December 5 as part of the eighth package of EU sanctions, and on February 5 it is planned to set a price limit for petroleum products. At the end of October, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak announced that Russia would not supply oil to countries that had introduced a price ceiling and was ready to cooperate with partners on the basis of market principles. However, the European Commission has not yet agreed on the size of this ceiling. It was about $65-70 per barrel, but Poland insists on $30.

Today Italian Minister of Environment and Energy Security Gilberto Pichetto-Fratin said at a meeting of the Council of Energy Ministers of the European Union that 15 EU countries were critical of the EC's proposal to limit prices for Russian gas.
