Earlier it was reported that on November 3, Andrey Karaulov reported on a search taking place in his house in Naro-Fominsk. According to him, this is due to the statement of the head of Rostec Sergey Chemezov and the article on slander.

“A search has begun in my house. According to Sergei Chemezov, the article is "Slander". People armed with machine guns tried to cut the gate with a grinder,” Karaulov said on his Telegram channel Andrei Karaulov.Pravda.

Karaulov suggested that the attention of the security forces to his person could be related to the story of Ksenia Sobchak. The journalist himself has been living in the UAE for more than a month, where he is preparing for an operation that is not scheduled in any way because of his heart problems.

Rostec said that Karaulov inflicted "reputational harm" on Chemezov.

However, already in July 2012, “slander” was again criminalized by re-introducing it into the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation in the form of Article 128.1, at the same time increasing the maximum punishment to 5 years in prison. Human rights activists objected to the re-installation of the article on libel in the Criminal Code, stating that it could become an instrument of political pressure on objectionable people.
