Submarine "Magadan" launched "Caliber" missiles in the Sea of Japan

Before proceeding with launches, the submarine secretly entered a given area.

"The first missile successfully hit a sea target - a target shield that imitates a surface ship of a mock enemy. The second missile hit a coastal target at the Syurkum tactical field in the Khabarovsk Territory at the estimated time. The firing range was more than a thousand kilometers", - the ministry said.

The firing was provided by ships and vessels of the Pacific Fleet, aircraft and drones of naval aviation.

It's worth reminding that Magadan is the third of six Project 636.3 diesel-electric submarines built for the Pacific Fleet. She was accepted into combat strength in October last year in St. Petersburg . She arrived at the Pacific Fleet via the Northern Sea Route last month.

In mid-November, another Project 636.3 boat, Ufa, entered the Russian Navy. It was also built for the Pacific Fleet. All six project 636.3 multi-purpose diesel-electric submarines will be transferred to the fleet by 2024. The series under construction at the Admiralty Shipyards is purposefully created to equip the submarine forces of the Pacific Fleet.
