Alexey Kudrin resigns as head of the Accounts Chamber

According to RIA Novosti with reference to Kudrin's statement, he has worked in the public sector for about 25 years and now "would like to focus on large projects" that are related to the development of private initiatives.

“Therefore, I am leaving the post of chairman of the Accounts Chamber, about which I submitted a corresponding application to the president of the Russian Federation in the prescribed manner”, - the agency quotes Kudrin as saying.

The Federation Council confirmed that the president's proposal to dismiss Kudrin from his post has already been submitted to the upper house of the Russian parliament, and they plan to consider it on November 30.

Earlier, the media reported that Kudrin could go to work at Yandex. As a possible successor to Kudrin as head of the Accounts Chamber, the media name the candidacy of the first vice-speaker of the State Duma Alexander Zhukov. According to RBC, Kudrin himself proposes his candidacy, but other options are also possible.
