Sberbank believes that the shortage of personnel in the field of cybersecurity in Russia has grown fivefold in a short time - from 20 to 100 thousand people.

This was reported by Interfax with reference to the data of the deputy chairman of the board of the bank Stanislav Kuznetsov.

“If just two years ago, the shortage of information security personnel was 20,000, according to our estimates, today it is approaching 100,000 people”, - Kuznetsov said.

In his opinion, in order to solve the personnel problem in cyberspace, the number of teachers in universities should be increased, and the “information security” direction itself should become one of the priorities in the field of education.

In order to speed up the solution of the problem of staff shortage in the IT field, large companies should establish cooperation with universities and provide educational organizations with the necessary support.

According to Stanislav Kuznetsov, Sberbank has already begun training specialists and teachers of this profile.

At the same time, the problem remains very acute on a national scale, especially after the announcement of a military operation and partial mobilization. Not wanting to be sent to the front, a lot of high-class IT specialists have left the territory of the Russian Federation since February this year. Such experts are most willingly accepted by Germany, which offers them easier access to visas.

The Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation is developing a program for the return of valuable personnel who have left abroad, but it is not yet clear whether it will be possible to make it effective.
