The members of the terrorist movement Taliban, who came to power in Afghanistan, carried out the first public execution.

According to Interfax, the death sentence was carried out against a resident of the province of Herat, who was accused of killing his compatriot from the province of Farah five years ago, stealing his motorcycle and mobile phone.

"The execution was attended by the deputy head of the Taliban government, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, as well as the Minister of the Interior, Sirajuddin Haqqani," the report said.

The Taliban came to power in Afghanistan in 2021. The reinstallation of their regime provoked mass emigration and multiple human rights violations in the country.

The rights of women were subjected to especially severe restrictions, who were forbidden by the Taliban to play sports, work in government positions, study at universities with men and walk the streets with an open face. The country was gripped by famine, a humanitarian crisis, and terrorist attacks became more frequent in many provinces.
