Vice President of Peru Dina Boluarte (pictured) took over as head of state and has already taken the oath, becoming the first woman in this position in the republic. Washington promised to support Peru after the change of leadership.

Dina Boluarte will remain as president, according to the constitution of the Latin American country, until July 26, 2026.
