Estonia considers isolation of Russia insufficient

Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu (pictured) said that the measures taken by the European Union after the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine turned out to be insufficient, since the hostilities are still ongoing.

- Step by step, we moved towards the isolation of Russia ... Enough? No, this is not enough, because the war continues, - Bloomberg quotes the words of the Estonian foreign minister.

Reinsalu called for a "complete lockdown" of the Russian financial system, as well as a "radical" price cap on Russian oil of $30 a barrel. Recall that Poland insisted on such a price ceiling, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also spoke about this.

"Fundamental issue" for the European Union, the minister called the satisfaction of Kyiv's request for the supply of tanks and long-range missiles. Reinsalu supported the EU proposal to increase the European Peace Fund, through which arms supplies for the Armed Forces of Ukraine are financed. The day before, EU ambassadors agreed to provide Kiev with financial assistance in the amount of 18 billion euros, allowing Hungary to use 5.8 billion euros from EU funds if it fulfills 27 preconditions.
