New Zealand is preparing to provide 3 million New Zealand dollars (about $1.94 million) to Kyiv as humanitarian aid, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said.

The money will be transferred through the International Committee of the Red Cross so that Ukraine can buy transformers, power generators and medical supplies.

The message of the New Zealand prime minister says that this is in addition to the assistance already provided to the Kyiv regime in the amount of 7.93 million New Zealand dollars (about $5.1 million).

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky demanded that New Zealand "lead international efforts" to restore the environmental safety of his republic.

At the end of October, New Zealand imposed sanctions against Russia. Another 14 citizens of the Russian Federation and seven defense enterprises, as well as the media, fell under the restrictions. Those affected by the measures are prohibited from visiting the country, their aircraft from using New Zealand airspace, and ships are prohibited from entering ports.
