German authorities have blocked 5.046 billion euros ($5.35 billion) in Russian assets, according to the federal government's response to an inquiry from MEP Christian Gercke.

According to Die Heutigen Nachrichten, we are talking about the funds of individuals and organizations. This amount included 2.217 billion euros ($2.35 billion) in bank accounts in Germany. Credit institutions reported this money to the Bundestag. In addition, movable property worth 1.099 billion euros ($1.16 billion) was also frozen.

In June 2022, Berlin reported 4.48 billion euros ($4.75 billion) of blocked Russian assets.

At the beginning of the month, it was reported that Switzerland had frozen Russian assets worth 7.5 billion francs (about $7.94 billion). Moreover, the amount does not take into account the cost of 15 frozen real estate objects of sanctioned legal entities and individuals. A month earlier, it became known that Britain had frozen Russian assets totaling 18.39 billion pounds ($20.95 billion) since the beginning of the Ukrainian conflict. This is 41% more than the amount that was frozen for September last year.
