Demand for New Year trips to CIS countries grew by 32% in 2022

The Russians began to buy tours for the New Year holidays to the CIS countries more often by 32% compared to last year. Most travelers choose Armenia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

As follows from the Yandex.Schedule data cited by RBC, Turkey is still in first place in terms of demand for New Year's destinations. In second place is Armenia, followed by Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Rounding out the top five are the UAE. After are Kyrgyzstan, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Serbia and Israel. On average, Russians intend to spend a week on New Year's travel.

For Russian travelers, the most attractive cities are Istanbul, Dubai, Antalya, Belgrade and Tel Aviv. 83% are going to travel within the country, the most preferred cities for domestic tourism are Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sochi.

This year, 86% of tourists traveled only in Russia. Only 2% made foreign trips. 70 million adult Russians this year traveled outside their region for at least one night.
