Freezing rain turned the streets of Moscow into a skating rink

Public spaces, roads, sidewalks and stairs were covered with a sparkling ice crust.

Emergency rooms expect an influx of visitors with bruises, sprains and fractures.

Not in all areas, public utilities were ready to eliminate the consequences of bad weather.

As noted by the telegram channel "Caution, Moscow", due to icing at the capital's airports, more than 60 flights were delayed and canceled.

The night before, more than 50 flights were canceled or delayed at the capital's airports. Because of the icy conditions, incoming planes could not approach the ramps, and the aircraft made additional circles in the sky, waiting for an opportunity to land.

According to forecasters, on Thursday in Moscow it will be cloudy, with some precipitation and fog. The air in the capital will warm up to +3°C.
