A criminal case against a former deputy who hit a child with the car closed in Novosibirsk

The World Court of the Tatarsky District of the Novosibirsk Region closed the criminal case against the former deputy Sergei Mamontov, who knocked down a six-year-old boy in his car and left the scene.

The incident happened on October 30 in Tatarsk. Sergey Mamontov drove his Toyota RAV4 into a boy in the courtyard of a high-rise building, after which he left the scene. The child was taken to the hospital.

After the incident, a criminal case was opened against Sergei Mamontov under the article on leaving a person in danger. The maximum penalty under this article is imprisonment for a year.

The criminal case against the former deputy was closed after the parties reconciled, the press service of the region's judicial department reported. The former deputy paid the child's mother compensation in the amount of one million rubles, Kommersant clarifies .

The publication notes that Sergei Mamontov was deprived of his deputy mandate after the incident. In addition, he was under arrest for 11 days for leaving the scene of an accident. For violating traffic rules, he was deprived of his license for a year and a half.
